Fire Breaks Out at Lagos Airport’s Terminal 2, Flights Disrupted
A fire incident on Sunday disrupted flight operations at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its official X handle, saying its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) was immediately deployed to contain the blaze.
According to the authority, firefighters responded promptly and were working to bring the situation under control.
“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) wishes to inform the public that a fire incident has occurred at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The FAAN Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) is currently responding to the incident and working diligently to contain the situation,” the statement read.
FAAN, however, assured the public that there were no reported casualties or loss of life resulting from the incident.
The authority added that further updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
