Six-Month-Old Baby Rescued Alive as Oyo Fire Service Puts Out House Fire in Ogbomoso
A six-month-old baby was rescued alive after a fire gutted the ground floor of a one-storey residential building at Olomi’s Compound in Ogbomoso on Saturday night.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency said it received the distress call at about 8:38 p.m. and immediately deployed firefighters to the scene.
The fire crew, led by fire officer Oluwaleye, arrived promptly at the scene of the incident and quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to the upper floor of the building and neighbouring properties.
The agency confirmed that the infant was safely rescued from the burning building without loss of life.
Preliminary findings indicated that the fire was caused by an unattended gas leak, while fire officers also educated residents on safety measures before returning to their station.
