Turkey: Galatasaray take decision on Atletico Madrid’s €120m bid for Osimhen
Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly rejected a €120 million bid from Atletico Madrid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to Turkish outlet Forza Cimbom, the Spanish LaLiga side identified Osimhen as a key transfer target ahead of the new season and tabled a substantial offer in an effort to secure his services.
Atletico Madrid are believed to be preparing for possible changes in their attacking lineup, with Alexander Sørloth attracting interest from Juventus, while Julian Alvarez has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Arsenal.
However, Galatasaray’s decision to turn down the offer indicates the club’s determination to keep hold of the Nigerian international despite growing interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Turkish Super Lig champions signed Osimhen from Napoli for €75 million, and the striker has since played a pivotal role in their recent success, helping the club secure back-to-back league titles.
Osimhen’s future has remained a major subject of transfer speculation in recent months, with several top clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.
The prolific forward has been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus.
Galatasaray’s latest move suggests the club views Osimhen as a central figure in its plans for the future and is unwilling to part with him despite Atletico Madrid’s lucrative offer.
