I’m aware Nigerians struggling – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has admitted that many Nigerians are still battling severe economic hardship and worsening security concerns across different parts of the country.

Tinubu made the remarks on Sunday while accepting the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking before party members and supporters, the President acknowledged the daily difficulties being faced by millions of citizens as a result of rising inflation, high food prices, and economic reforms introduced by his administration.

“However, there are still challenges ahead. Many Nigerians continue to face challenges with increasing prices and changes in the economy,” Tinubu said.

“We take these concerns seriously; we see them and lead not from a place of ease, but from a true understanding of the situation, with honesty and decisive action.”

The President noted that although his administration has implemented policies aimed at stabilizing the economy and attracting investment, many households are still struggling with the rising cost of living.

Since assuming office in 2023, Tinubu’s government has introduced major economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market — policies that have triggered sharp increases in transportation costs, food prices, and general living expenses.

Tinubu also admitted that insecurity remains a serious challenge despite ongoing military operations across the country.

“I recognize that there are still security challenges facing some areas of our great country,” he stated.

According to him, the Federal Government has continued to invest heavily in intelligence gathering, surveillance systems, and modern security technology to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.

“We have put money into intelligence, watching over things, and new tools, and we are working on the main reasons behind insecurity,” he added.

The President further called on the National Assembly to urgently approve the establishment of state police, describing it as necessary to strengthen grassroots security and improve rapid response to criminal activities nationwide.

Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed to improving the economy, restoring peace, and delivering better living conditions across the country.
