Nigerians Are Suffering, Time for Change Has Come, Omo Ibile
With political permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections gradually taking shape, a leading House of Representatives aspirant in Oluyole Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress, Hon. Tokunbo Ogunsola, popularly known as Omo Ibile, has called on opposition parties across Nigeria to close ranks and unite against the ruling APC.
Ogunsola made the call during an appearance on Òsèlú Àwarawa, a Yoruba political programme on Dominion 106.1 FM, Iyaganku, Ibadan, hosted by broadcaster Abolade Sodiq Abiola.
The politician, who spoke on several national and political issues, maintained that the current condition of Nigerians requires urgent attention, insisting that the country can no longer continue on its present path.
In a strongly worded criticism of the APC-led government, Ogunsola alleged that millions of Nigerians have been pushed into hardship due to poor governance and lack of people focused policies.
He said rising economic difficulties, increasing cost of living and widespread frustration among citizens indicate that Nigerians are yearning for a different direction.
According to him, the time has come for opposition figures to put personal ambitions aside and embrace a united front capable of challenging the ruling party in the next election.
“Politics should not be about individuals alone; it should be about the future of Nigerians. If opposition parties truly desire change, then unity must come first,” he stated.
Ogunsola further projected the ADC as a viable political platform capable of restoring hope and rebuilding public confidence.
The House of Representatives hopeful also highlighted his educational qualifications and leadership preparedness.
He disclosed that he studied at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, and later proceeded to the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom.
He assured residents of Oluyole Federal Constituency that his aspiration goes beyond politics, promising representation that would prioritize development, youth empowerment and improved welfare.
The programme later became more interactive when listeners participated through phone calls.
A caller from Adesola area of Ibadan sought clarification on the aspirant’s contributions to society and his previous engagements with people at the grassroots.
Responding, Ogunsola listed various humanitarian efforts, including the provision of interest-free loans to traders and business owners to support their livelihoods.
He also disclosed that he had purchased WAEC and JAMB forms for less privileged students and facilitated empowerment programmes aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable groups.
He noted that leadership should be measured by service and impact rather than campaign promises.
Speaking on party matters, he appealed for peace and unity among ADC stakeholders in Oyo State, stressing that internal harmony would strengthen the party ahead of future political contests.
Political observers believe the interview may further intensify conversations around emerging political alignments as attention gradually shifts toward 2027.
