Good Samaritan In Saudi Arabia: Oyo Pilgrim Returns Lost $400, 80 Riyals to Abuja Pilgrim in Makkah
An Oyo State pilgrim, Alhaji Dauda Faeez Abimbara, has been widely praised for his honesty after returning a sum of Four Hundred US Dollars and Eighty Saudi Riyals lost by another pilgrim in Makkah on Saturday, 16th May, 2026.
The money was reportedly misplaced by Usman Abubakar, who is part of the delegation from the Federal Capital Territory performing this year’s Hajj exercise in the holy city.
According to accounts shared during the pilgrimage, Alhaji Abimbara discovered the cash and made efforts to trace its rightful owner rather than keeping it.
His action stood out among thousands of pilgrims gathered in Makkah, a city in Makkah, where acts of integrity are often highlighted during the annual spiritual exercise.
The lost funds were eventually returned intact to Usman Abubakar, who expressed gratitude for the rare display of trustworthiness.
Fellow pilgrims from Oyo State also commended Abimbara’s conduct, describing it as a reflection of moral discipline and religious devotion.
The incident, reported by Independent Hajj Reporters, has since been circulating widely among Hajj observers, with many describing it as a reminder of the values of honesty and accountability expected of pilgrims during the sacred journey.
