KUSO DECLARES FOR APM, LEADS SUPPORTERS TO MAKINDE RALLY, SEEKS TOTAL BACKING FOR GOVERNOR
A prominent Chairmanship aspirant in Ibarapa East, Hon. Abdul Akeem Akintola Kuso, has officially declared his membership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), describing the party as a platform for progressive-minded Nigerians committed to building a better future for the country.
Kuso made the declaration on Thursday while addressing supporters after leading a large contingent of political associates, youths and loyalists to the mega rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, where Governor Seyi Makinde formally declared his presidential ambition.
The Ibarapa East political figure said his decision to join APM followed careful consultations and his conviction that the emerging alliance around Governor Makinde represents a new political direction capable of addressing the challenges facing Nigeria.
According to him, the country requires leaders with proven records, practical governance experience and a genuine concern for the welfare of citizens.
“I am today officially declaring myself as a member of the Allied Peoples Movement. This is a decision driven by conviction and by my belief in a brighter future for our people,” Kuso said.
He added, “Governor Seyi Makinde has demonstrated uncommon leadership and has shown through governance that development is possible when leaders put the people first. I strongly believe he is ready to take Nigeria to the next level.”
Kuso said he and his supporters participated actively in the rally as a show of solidarity and confidence in Makinde’s presidential aspiration, stressing that Nigerians were yearning for leaders with tested capacity and clear vision.
He further called on the people of Ibarapa East to join the movement and support Governor Makinde wholeheartedly, noting that the governor’s ambition transcends politics and represents a broader mission for national transformation.
“I call on all sons and daughters of Ibarapa East to support Governor Makinde wholeheartedly. We must stand behind a leader who has shown results and who understands the needs of ordinary Nigerians,” he stated.
He expressed optimism that the support base for Makinde and the APM would continue to grow across communities and political divides as the 2027 political landscape begins to gather momentum.
Political observers say Kuso’s formal declaration and public mobilization may further strengthen grassroots support for the emerging political alliance in Oyo State.
