Court Sentences Ex-Power Minister, Saleh Mamman to 75 Years Imprisonment for Corruption
Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, on Wednesday, sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years’ imprisonment over corruption linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
The court found Mamman guilty on a 12-count charge and ordered that the sentences run consecutively, bringing the total term to 75 years’ imprisonment.
Justice Omotosho further ruled that the sentence will take effect from the date the convict is arrested, while directing security agencies to apprehend him wherever he is found.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of all monies and properties recovered from the former minister to the Federal Government. It further directed him to refund the outstanding balance from the alleged ₦22 billion linked to the projects.
