‎Police Arrest Six Suspected Robbers, Recover Phones, Tricycle in Ibadan Raid


‎The Oyo State Police Command has arrested six suspected members of a robbery syndicate allegedly operating within the Ibadan metropolis, marking a major breakthrough in efforts to curb crime in the state.

‎The suspects were apprehended during a targeted operation by the Command’s Monitoring Unit following actionable intelligence.

‎Police, through intelligence reports indicated that the group had been hiding at a hotel in the 7UP/Academy area of Ibadan, prompting a swift response from security operatives.

‎Acting on the tip-off, officers carried out a coordinated sting operation at the location, leading to the arrest of Kelvin Daniel (21), Idris Ramon (25), Christopher Solomon (35), Mohamed Telim (21), Taored Aderibigbe (30), and Adekunle Tolani (27).

‎Items recovered from the suspects include 18 mobile phones, one ATM card, a National Identification Number (NIN) card, and a tricycle with registration number OYO SHK 508 QP, believed to have been used in carrying out the alleged crimes.

‎Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects have confessed to being part of a syndicate responsible for a series of robberies across Ibadan.

‎The Police Command stated that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion.
