Oyo Police Re-Arrest Suspected Kidnapper Who Escaped from Jobele Divisional Headquarters
The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the successful re-arrest of a suspected kidnapper who previously escaped from custody at the Jobele Division.
The Command, in a statement made available to the public, described the development as a major operational success and a reflection of its resolve to ensure that no suspect evades justice.
According to the police, the suspect, Ayomide Kareem, 25, was apprehended on March 17, 2026 during a routine patrol by operatives attached to the Ojongbodu Area Command.
The Police Command recalled that Kareem had escaped from detention on March 10 while being held in connection with a suspected kidnapping case.
It also stated that disciplinary actions were initiated against officers found to have been negligent in the earlier incident after the community staged a peaceful protest.
The Command hinted the public that the suspect is now in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
