APC Elects Adeyemo as Oyo Chairman, Vows to Reclaim Agodi Government House in 2027
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday held its state congress in Oyo State, ushering in a new set of executives to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, conducted amid tight security and party supervision, brought together delegates and stakeholders from across the 33 local government areas of the state to the congress which took place at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.
The highlight of the event was the emergence of Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, a former Deputy Governor of the state, as the new APC Chairman in Oyo.
Adeyemo, who served under the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi between 2011 and 2019, was adopted through a consensus arrangement agreed upon by party stakeholders.
Speaking at the congress, APC chieftain and former governorship candidate, Teslim Folarin, expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the next election cycle.
He declared that the APC is fully repositioned to reclaim power, assuring supporters that the party would occupy the Oyo State Government House, Agodi in 2027.
Addressing journalists after the congress, the newly confirmed Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Honorable Olawale Sadare, described the exercise as transparent and reflective of the collective will of party members.
He commended delegates for their orderly conduct and reiterated the commitment of the new executive to reposition the party for electoral victory.
Party leaders at the event emphasised inclusiveness and unity, calling on aggrieved members to close ranks in the interest of victory at the polls.
