FG Disburses ₦38.93bn to 166 Public Tertiary Institutions

The Federal Government has disbursed ₦38.93 billion to 166 public tertiary institutions across the country under the Needs Assessment Revitalisation Fund.

The beneficiaries comprise 79 universities, 46 polytechnics and 41 colleges of education.

The disbursement was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by Efe Ovuakporie, Head of the Media Unit of the Federal Ministry of Finance.

According to the statement, universities received ₦28.5 billion, polytechnics were allocated ₦5.8 billion, while colleges of education received ₦4.7 billion.

The fund is designed to address infrastructure gaps in public tertiary institutions and support the implementation of critical projects aimed at improving teaching and learning conditions.

It also forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to implement measures contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The intervention is expected to support the revitalisation of public tertiary institutions by providing resources for infrastructure development and other identified needs.
