Bandits Abduct Five Persons, Including One-Month-Old Baby, In Kaduna

Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted five persons, including a one-month-old baby, in Mararaban Kajuru, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in the Mararaban Kajuru community, Kufana Ward.

A community security update circulating on Tuesday disclosed the incident, raising concerns over the safety of the abducted victims.

The update read in part, “At about 1 a.m. in Mararaban Kajuru of Kufana Ward, Kajuru LGA, Kaduna State, five people have been confirmed kidnapped by terrorists, including a child of one month old.”

The message also appealed for prayers for the safe return of the victims, adding, “Let’s pray for their safe return in Jesus’ name.”

However, the update did not provide details of how the abduction occurred or disclose the identities of those taken away.

As of the time of filing this report, neither the Kaduna State Police Command nor the state Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs had issued an official statement on the incident.
