Tragedy: Corps Member Killed, Several Injured as Articulated Vehicle Crushes Multiple Vehicles in Ibadan
One person, identified as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, has been confirmed dead, while several others sustained injuries after an articulated vehicle rammed into multiple vehicles around the Agodi Gardens area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Eyewitnesses said the truck driver had allegedly crushed several vehicles around the Sango area before proceeding towards Agodi Gardens, where the vehicle reportedly rammed into a motorcycle, killing the corps member and injuring several other people.
According to the accounts, the driver was allegedly attempting to escape after the earlier crashes before the incident occurred around Agodi Gardens.
The accident caused traffic disruption in the area, prompting a diversion of motorists as emergency responders moved to the scene.
Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrived at the scene following the incident and confirmed that the injured victims had been taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report.
