Kuso Empowers 100 Ibarapa East Residents, Urges Support for APM
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) chieftain and Ibarapa East Local Government chairmanship hopeful, Hon. Abdul Akeem Akintola Kuso, has empowered 100 residents of the local government as part of efforts to support people at the grassroots.
Kuso distributed the empowerment packages on Saturday, September 19, 2026, during a well-attended meeting in Ibarapa East, where a large crowd of party members, supporters and residents gathered.
The gathering was characterised by excitement as beneficiaries and other participants expressed appreciation for the gesture, with supporters describing the initiative as another demonstration of Kuso’s commitment to grassroots engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Kuso urged members and supporters to remain loyal to the Allied Peoples Movement and work collectively for the success of the party and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also encouraged party members to maintain what he described as unity and commitment across the different levels of the political structure.
Kuso listed the political figures he urged members to support, including Governor Seyi Makinde, whom he referred to in the context of the emerging APM political alignment; the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi; the party’s Oyo South Senatorial candidate, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidiomo; and other APM candidates in the state.
The APM’s Oyo State governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanbi, was formally affirmed by the party earlier this year, while Engr. Muftau Open Salawu was subsequently announced as his running mate.
Kuso further called on members of the party in Ibarapa East to remain committed to the party’s grassroots structure, stressing the importance of unity and collective participation in the political process.
At the meeting, other political leaders and stakeholders also addressed the gathering, urging members to remain steadfast with Kuso and the APM.
The leaders appealed to the people to identify with Kuso’s vision for Ibarapa East and to support his grassroots-oriented initiatives, maintaining that continued engagement with the people was necessary for community development.
The meeting also featured interactions between the political leadership and residents, with issues affecting the local government and the participation of residents in political activities forming part of the discussions.
Meanwhile, Kuso urged party members and supporters to participate in the forthcoming Boye Nation and JAF Movement Concert, which has been scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
Recent reports indicate that the event, organised under the Young, United and Unstoppable (YUU) platform, is expected to bring together youths from different parts of Oyo State for music, entertainment, networking and political engagement. The programme is also expected to feature the formal declaration of Boye Nation for the Allied Peoples Movement.
Among the artistes listed for the concert are Fuji stars Alabi Pasuma and Taye Currency, as well as Qdot and other entertainers. Reports indicate that the programme is scheduled to commence at 10am.
The event comes as political activities and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum across Oyo State.
Kuso’s latest empowerment programme adds to a growing pattern of grassroots political engagements in Ibarapa East and surrounding communities, where political actors and aspirants have increasingly used community meetings, consultations and empowerment initiatives to engage residents ahead of the 2027 elections.
