Olubadan Felicitates Dotun Sanusi at 58, Hails Humility,  Philanthropy, Investment in Ibadanland

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has congratulated Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland and Okanlomo Oodua, on his 58th birthday, describing him as a successful businessman who combines a passion for humanity with a deep sense of humility.

Oba Ladoja, in a birthday message, commended the founder of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort for his business achievements and contributions to community development, particularly his transformation of Ilaji and the Akanran area of Ibadan.

The monarch noted that Sanusi had played a significant role in transforming the area, which he said was once associated with criminal activities, into a major destination for tourism, recreation and economic opportunities.

He observed that the development had attracted visitors from different places and created livelihood opportunities for residents, demonstrating how private investment could contribute to community growth and prosperity.

The Olubadan also praised Sanusi’s investment in education through the International Community and Advanced School of Technology (ICAST), Elebu, Ibadan, describing the institution as evidence of his commitment to youth development and the future of Nigeria.

According to the monarch, Sanusi’s investment in quality education demonstrates how individual business initiatives can complement government efforts to develop human capital and provide opportunities for young people.

Oba Ladoja further commended the businessman for maintaining strong ties with his homeland despite his business interests in Nigeria and abroad, noting that he had continued to invest in Ibadanland and promote its peace and progress.

The monarch explained that the decision to inaugurate the Olubadan Economic and Investment Committee, which includes prominent entrepreneurs such as Sanusi, was aimed at fostering meaningful engagements on reviving old businesses that had shut down in Ibadan.

He expressed optimism that the committee would help identify investment opportunities, encourage entrepreneurship and support efforts to restore the city’s economic vitality.

Oba Ladoja added that Sanusi’s numerous achievements and contributions to society reflected his character and commitment to service, describing his example as worthy of emulation by other business leaders.

While congratulating the celebrant on attaining the age of 58, the Olubadan prayed to God to bless his new age, grant him good health and prosperity, and preserve his life for many more years.
