APM’s Adekanmbi Felicitates Nigerians, Calls for Unity at 66th Independence Anniversary
The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, calling for greater unity, renewal and collective commitment to national development.
In a statement issued to commemorate the anniversary, Adekanmbi commended Nigerians for their resilience and determination in the face of the challenges confronting the country, saying citizens had continued to demonstrate faith in the unity and indivisibility of Nigeria.
He noted that the country had recorded significant achievements over the past 66 years, stressing that such accomplishments should be protected despite the difficulties currently facing the nation.
Adekanmbi said the contributions of Nigerians across different segments of society, including youths, elders, men and women, had sustained the country’s development and continued existence.
He said, “I sincerely appreciate Nigerians for standing firm and believing in the unity of our country, refusing to allow our diversity to hinder our collective resolve to develop the great nation bequeathed to us by our founding fathers.”
The APM candidate acknowledged the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians in recent years, which he attributed to certain federal government policy decisions, noting that the impact was evident in the rising cost of food, transportation and other basic necessities.
“The hardship is evident in the rising cost of food, transportation, and other basic necessities. I empathize deeply with Nigerians and affirm that there is hope for a new and better Nigeria,” he said.
Despite the challenges, Adekanmbi urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to building a country that would serve the interests of both present and future generations.
He also called on Nigerians to participate actively and peacefully in the democratic process and make informed choices based on the vision, competence and values presented by political parties and candidates.
Adekanmbi further appealed to the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, saying the administration’s projects and programmes had contributed to the state’s development.
He said, “As the nation prepares for another round of elections next year, and in line with the articulated programmes of the APM, I urge the people to support and vote for all candidates of our great party to ensure the sustainability of the development Oyo State has witnessed in the last seven years.”
The statement was signed by Yinka Oladoyinbo, Director of Communication and Spokesperson, Oyo State APM Governorship Campaign Council.
