The welcome-back reception organised for Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Friday took an entertaining turn as the Governor transformed the gathering into a mini concert, thrilling workers with music and dance at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, Ibadan.
Makinde, who had just returned from his annual leave, joined the excitement as music blared across the premises, with workers and government officials turning the occasion into a lively celebration of his return.
The high point came when the governor entertained the gathering with a song by legendary juju musician, King Sunny Ade, as he joined the musical mood and interacted with the enthusiastic workers.

The performance drew cheers from members of staff, who responded with singing, dancing and applause as the governor appeared to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere created during the welcome-back programme.
A disc jockey, who provided musical support for the event, kept the atmosphere lively with a selection of popular Nigerian songs, moving between contemporary sounds and evergreen hits as workers danced around the venue.
The DJ’s energetic sets further turned what began as an official welcome ceremony into an informal celebration, with the workers appearing to set aside the seriousness of their routine administrative duties to enjoy the moment with the governor.
Makinde was also seen acknowledging the excitement from the workers as the music continued, creating a convivial atmosphere at the Governor’s Office.
The entertainment segment provided a lighter moment during the governor’s first official engagement after his return from leave, coming alongside his interaction with civil servants and public servants who had gathered to welcome him back.
The event combined the formal business of governance with music and celebration, giving workers an opportunity to interact with the governor in a relaxed setting.
