NAHCON Announces 2027 Hajj Fares, Fixes Fees at Over N7.5m
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced approved fares ranging from ₦7,560,822 to ₦7,882,822 for the 2027 Hajj, depending on the pilgrims’ departure zones.
The commission disclosed this in a public notice issued on Friday, stating that the fares were approved by the Federal Government following consultations with the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and key service providers in Saudi Arabia.
According to NAHCON, pilgrims departing from the Maiduguri/Yola Zone will pay ₦7,560,822, while those from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,672,822. Pilgrims from the Southern Zone will pay the highest fare of ₦7,882,822.
The commission explained that the approved fares were determined based on prevailing exchange rates and the cost of services required for the pilgrimage.
NAHCON said the fares were fixed in line with the principles of transparency and cost efficiency, as well as the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
The commission also stated that intending pilgrims who had already deposited ₦5 million would be required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration.
Consequently, pilgrims who paid the initial ₦5 million will have outstanding balances of ₦2,560,822 for the Maiduguri/Yola Zone, ₦2,672,822 for the Northern Zone and ₦2,882,822 for the Southern Zone.
NAHCON directed new registrants to make payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions, or through approved Hajj Savings Scheme participating banks.
Meanwhile, the commission fixed September 26, 2026, as the final deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform.
It also directed states to complete the remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by December 2, 2026.
NAHCON stressed that there would be no extension of the deadlines, explaining that data synchronisation and seat allocation depended on timely remittances.
The commission warned that failure to meet the deadlines would result in the forfeiture of allocated Hajj slots.
