Oyo Government Boosts Emergency Response, Graduates 100 Newly Recruited Firefighters After Six Months of Training
The Oyo State Government has strengthened its emergency response capacity with the graduation of 100 newly recruited firefighters following the successful completion of a six-month Basic Firefighting Course.
The newly trained personnel were officially inducted into the Oyo State Fire Service during a colourful passing-out parade held at the service office, Agodi-Ibadan, where they demonstrated the firefighting and rescue skills acquired throughout the rigorous training programme.
The ceremony was attended by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform and Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Hon. Dr. Moroof Babatunde Akinwande, who described the graduation as another significant milestone in the state’s ongoing efforts to reposition the fire service for greater efficiency and professionalism.
Dr. Akinwande congratulated the newly recruited firefighters on completing the intensive training and charged them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
He reiterated the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to strengthening the state’s emergency response system through continuous recruitment, training, institutional reforms and investment in modern firefighting equipment to ensure the protection of lives and property across Oyo State.
