Oyo Police Bust Goods Diversion Syndicate, Recover ₦32 mill Worth of Guinea Corn

‎The Oyo State Police Command has dismantled a suspected goods diversion syndicate and arrested two suspects while recovering a truckload of guinea corn valued at about ₦32 million.

‎The Command said the breakthrough was part of its sustained intelligence-led operations aimed at combating crime and protecting legitimate commercial activities across the state.
‎
‎According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit, Oyo Operational Base, acted on credible intelligence and raided the hideout of the syndicate in the Irepo area of Oyo Town.
‎
‎During the operation, the police arrested two suspects and also recovered a truck and trailer loaded with 570 bags of guinea corn allegedly diverted while being transported from Kaduna State.
‎
The Command disclosed that both suspects had confessed to their roles in the crime, adding that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate and recover additional diverted goods linked to the operation.
