Akin Fagbemi Embarks on Thank You Tour as APM Leaders Officially Present Him to Party Faithful in Ibadan North West
The House of Representatives candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi, on Monday embarked on a Thank You Tour to the Ibadan North West Local Government, with the leadership of the party officially presenting him to party faithful as their representative for the 2027 general elections.
The event, held at the Ibadan North West Local Government Secretariat, Onireke, was organised by Dr. Fagbemi to appreciate party leaders, executives and members for their unwavering loyalty, sacrifices and commitment to the growth of the party following his emergence as the APM candidate.

It attracted party stalwarts, government officials, stakeholders and supporters, who described the gathering as a demonstration of unity and preparedness for the 2027 polls.
Welcoming party members, the Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, Hon. Adepoju Abdulrahman, commended Dr. Fagbemi for returning to appreciate the people who stood by him throughout the process, describing the gesture as a mark of responsible and inclusive leadership.
“Dr. Akin Fagbemi has already emerged as our candidate, and today we are formally presenting him to party members in his local government. He has shown loyalty, capacity and commitment to our party, and we have every confidence that he will provide effective representation for our constituency. We urge every member to stand firmly behind him.”
Also speaking at the event, the Deputy Chairman of APM in Oyo State, Hon. Abdulwasiu Adeleke, called on members to remain united and committed to the party’s success.
“This presentation is a confirmation that our party is united behind its candidate. Dr. Fagbemi has earned the confidence of the leadership, and it is now our collective responsibility to mobilise support for him across every ward. Together, we will achieve victory.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of APM in Ibadan North West, Hon. Fatola Kazeem, said the official presentation was aimed at further strengthening the bond between the candidate and party members at the grassroots.
“This is our candidate, and we are proud to present him officially to our members. He enjoys the confidence of the party leadership, and we believe he has the vision and competence to represent our people effectively. Our structures across the eleven wards are fully prepared to work for his success.”
APM State Secretary, Ademola Oke, described Dr. Fagbemi as a committed party man who has consistently demonstrated dedication to the ideals of the Allied Peoples Movement.
“The state leadership stands solidly behind Dr. Fagbemi. His emergence is a product of his loyalty, service and commitment to the party. We urge members to remain focused and continue mobilising support as we prepare for the general elections.”
In his speech, the Executive Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Hon. Biodun Baruwa, praised the peaceful conduct of the gathering and urged party members to sustain the spirit of unity.

“A united party is always stronger. What we have witnessed today reflects maturity, discipline and a shared commitment to the progress of the party. I encourage everyone to remain steadfast.”
At the event, The Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, said Dr. Fagbemi’s decision to embark on a Thank You Tour demonstrated his appreciation for those who contributed to his political journey.
“Leadership begins with gratitude. By coming back to appreciate party members, Dr. Fagbemi has shown that he values the sacrifices and support of the people. That is the hallmark of a true leader.”
The Senior Special Assistant on Igbo Community Affairs, Tallest Innocent, commended the inclusive nature of the event and pledged the support of diverse communities within the constituency.
“This gathering reflects the unity that our constituency needs. We will continue to support leaders who promote inclusiveness, peace and development.”
Party stakeholder, Dr. Remi Ayodele, urged members to remain steadfast and committed to ensuring the party’s success at the polls.
“Today’s event is not only about appreciation; it is also about strengthening our resolve for the task ahead. Dr. Fagbemi has shown that he is ready to serve, and we must all work together to ensure victory.”

The high point of the event was the official presentation of Dr. Akin Fagbemi by the leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement to party members in Ibadan North West Local Government.
Amid loud cheers from supporters, party leaders unanimously raised his hands before the gathering, formally introducing him to the grassroots as the party’s standard-bearer for the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency and calling on members across the eleven wards to remain united behind his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
