Popular Nigerian singer, Abiola Akinbiyi, better known as Bella Shmurda, has sparked widespread concern after breaking down in tears during an emotional Instagram Live session, prompting Nigerians and fans to check on his wellbeing following his claim that he lost $4 million in an alleged Lagos property scam.

The singer alleged that he was defrauded after paying $4 million for a property in Lagos, only to later discover that the house did not belong to the person who sold it to him. According to Bella Shmurda, the alleged seller disappeared after receiving the payment, leaving him devastated and uncertain about recovering his money.

Appealing for help during the livestream, the visibly emotional singer said, “Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property. And now the seller has disappeared. Please, help me. Someone step in. I’ve got nothing left. I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that.”

His emotional outburst quickly triggered reactions across social media, with many Nigerians and fans expressing sympathy, offering words of encouragement, and urging the relevant authorities to investigate the alleged fraud. Others also advised the singer to pursue every available legal means to recover his money.
