Oyo Rescue Operation: ‘We Will Hunt You Down’ — Tinubu Declares No Mercy for Terrorists

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed that Nigeria will relentlessly pursue terrorists threatening the country’s peace and security, declaring that the government will neither negotiate with nor make concessions to criminal elements.

In a statement issued on Friday following the rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, the President said the successful operation underscored the resolve of the nation’s security forces to protect Nigerians.

“Tonight, our nation has reason to give thanks. The children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State have been rescued by our security forces, alive and unharmed. No ransom was paid. No concession was made,” Tinubu said.

The President commended the security personnel involved in the operation, praising their courage, discipline and professionalism in securing the victims’ freedom without yielding to the demands of the terrorists.

“I salute every officer and operative whose courage, discipline and professionalism made this possible,” he stated.

Tinubu warned terrorists and other criminal groups that the Nigerian state would continue to track them down wherever they operate, stressing that there would be no hiding place for those who threaten the nation’s peace.

“To those who seek to spread fear through terror, know that the Nigerian state will pursue you relentlessly. We will protect our people, defend our communities, and never relent until peace and security prevail across our country,” the President declared.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening national security and ensuring that every Nigerian can live, work and pursue education in a safe and secure environment.
