‎Tension gripped the Ojo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday following a violent disturbance that prompted the deployment of security operatives to restore order and prevent further breakdown of law and order.

‎The unrest was reportedly triggered by the alleged killing of a Yoruba tricycle mechanic, who was said to have been stabbed to death during an overnight altercation involving suspected Hausa scrap collectors.

‎However, authorities have yet to officially confirm the circumstances surrounding the incident or the identities of those involved.

‎The incident sparked outrage among some youths, leading to clashes and heightened tension in the area.

‎Some residents reportedly fled their homes for fear of possible reprisals, although the claims could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

‎Security personnel, including operatives of Operation Burst and other security agencies, were deployed to strategic locations across Ojoo to contain the situation and ensure the safety of residents.
