Provost, Oyo College of Nursing and Midwifery Becomes Member of NMCN Governing Board
In a significant recognition of her professional expertise and contributions to nursing education, the Provost of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi, has been appointed as a member of the Governing Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), the regulatory body responsible for nursing and midwifery education and practice in Nigeria.
The appointment, announced on Thursday in Abuja, is a testament to Dr. Owolabi’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of nursing education and professional development, as well as her commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery through quality training and capacity building.
Reacting to the appointment, Dr. Owolabi expressed gratitude to the Council for the confidence reposed in her, describing the recognition as a call to greater service and dedication to the nursing profession.
She pledged to contribute her quota towards the continued growth and development of the Council and the nursing profession in Nigeria.
The Provost also appreciated the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering support for the health and education sectors, as well as the management, staff, and students of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery for their cooperation and encouragement over the years.
She noted that the appointment would further motivate her to work harder in promoting excellence in nursing education and advancing the objectives of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
