‎Just In: Oriyomi Hamzat Claims There is an Alleged Plot to Plant Hard Drugs in Agidigbo FM, Frame Supporters & Justify Demolition of Radio Station

‎Popular broadcaster and founder of Agidigbo FM, Oriyomi Hamzat, has raised alarm over an alleged plot to plant hard drugs within the premises of the radio station and use individuals disguised as his supporters to implicate him in criminal activities as a pretext for the demolition of the media outfit.

‎Speaking in a video circulating on social media, Hamzat claimed that some individuals were allegedly working on plans that could culminate in the sealing or demolition of Agidigbo FM. However, he declined to mention the names of those he accused of being behind the alleged scheme.

‎According to him, recent developments in Oyo State compelled him to publicly alert residents to what he described as an intimidation campaign.

‎Hamzat alleged that certain individuals had been sent to Agidigbo FM under the guise of bringing complaints or seeking intervention from the station, with the intention of secretly planting hard drugs on the premises.

‎”Some arrests and demolitions are already ongoing in Oyo State. I heard they wanted to plant hard drugs inside Agidigbo and pretend they brought an issue to the station. We saw the people sent yesterday to carry out the plan, and we are still expecting others they intended to send,” he said.

‎The broadcaster further alleged that there was a separate plan to recruit individuals, dress them in yellow clothing commonly associated with the Accord Party, and present them as his supporters after allegedly engaging in criminal acts.

‎”They also planned to put yellow cloth on some people to portray them as Accord followers. They would then claim they are my supporters and accuse them of committing crimes. That is one of the reasons I recently reacted to the use of yellow cloth,” Hamzat stated.

‎He maintained that despite the alleged threats and intimidation, he would not be deterred, stressing that Agidigbo FM had grown beyond a personal venture and now belongs to the people it serves.

‎”My people in Oyo State, intimidation is out in the open now. I am not the owner of Agidigbo; it belongs to the people. If you like, seal off Agidigbo or demolish it,” he said.

‎Hamzat also emphasized his personal lifestyle, noting that he neither drinks alcohol nor smokes, while insisting that any action taken against him would not diminish his influence or public support.

‎”I don’t drink and I don’t smoke. You cannot demolish Oriyomi, but you cannot reduce my followers,” he added.

‎As of the time of filing this report, Hamzat had not publicly identified any individual, agency, or political group as being responsible for the alleged plot.

‎There has also been no official response from authorities regarding the claims.

‎From different reactions to the video, some said they stand with Oriyomi, while others insulted him for raising false alarm, noting that he who must come to equity should come with clean hands.
