‎Gov. Makinde Seeks Police Support, Promises All-Out Effort to Secure Release of Abducted Oriire Pupils, Teachers

‎Governor Seyi Makinde has reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State Government to securing the release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, promising an all-out effort to ensure their safe return.

‎The governor made the assurance while receiving the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the South-West, Olatoye Fayoade, who was in Oyo State on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police to assess prevailing security challenges across the region.

‎Speaking during the visit, governor Makinde described the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers from Yawota and Esinele communities as one of the most traumatic security incidents experienced in the state in recent times.

‎He stressed that the state government would do everything within its power to secure the release of the victims and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

‎In his remarks, DIG Olatoye Fayoade assured residents of the state that security agencies were intensifying efforts to prevent further security breaches and enhance the safety of lives and property across Oyo State.

‎He reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to working closely with the state government and other stakeholders to tackle criminality and strengthen security across the South-West region.
