Thieves Steal England’s World Cup Training Equipment in United States

England’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have suffered an unexpected setback after thieves reportedly stole training equipment belonging to the national team in the United States.

The theft occurred after vehicles transporting equipment to England’s training base in Kansas City were allegedly broken into, according to the English Football Association (FA).

While officials are still assessing the extent of the loss, reports indicate that footballs, boots, and other training materials were among the items stolen.

Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with the incident, while police investigations remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for local law enforcement confirmed the development, saying efforts were underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the theft.

“We are investigating a possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing this evening. The investigation is ongoing,” the spokesperson said.

The incident comes as England intensifies preparations for its opening match of the World Cup.

The Three Lions arrived in the United States nearly a week ago and have been training in Florida ahead of the tournament. The squad is scheduled to relocate to Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, where final preparations will continue before their opening fixture.

Managed by German coach Thomas Tuchel, England will begin its World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday at AT&T Stadium.

The former European champions will then face Ghana and Panama in their remaining Group L matches as they seek to advance to the knockout stages of the competition.

Despite the disruption caused by the theft, team officials are expected to ensure that preparations continue without significant interruption as England pursues its quest for a second FIFA World Cup title.
