Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has sent the names of Dr. Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioner nominees.

The nominees are expected to replace Nurudeen Temi Ashamu, son of former Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, and Adeniyi Adebisi.

Ashamu and Adebisi currently serve as commissioners in the Ministries of Budget and Economic Planning, and Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, respectively. Both are also contesting elective positions under different political platforms in the forthcoming elections.

In a letter referenced SP/S.663/2/VOL. III/436 and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Governor Makinde requested the speedy screening and confirmation of the nominees in line with the provisions of Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

Dr. Oyeleke is a former Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, while Ojo previously represented Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
