Thunder Roars Across Oyo State as Traditional Worshippers Invoke Deities Against Kidnappers of Students, Teachers

Thunder reportedly echoed across parts of Oyo State on Tuesday as traditional worshippers gathered to invoke ancestral deities for the safe return of students and teachers abducted by gunmen in Oriire Local Government Area.

The traditionalists condemned the attack on the schools, describing it as a grave assault on innocent children, teachers, and the peace of local communities.

During the spiritual gathering, worshippers offered prayers and performed traditional rites, calling on the gods and ancestors to expose the kidnappers, frustrate their operations, and ensure the safe release of the victims.

The worshippers said the symbolic thunder and spiritual invocations reflected the seriousness of the situation and the collective anger of communities over the rising insecurity affecting schools and rural areas.

They also urged government and security agencies to intensify rescue operations and strengthen protection around schools, particularly in vulnerable communities.

Community leaders appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and supportive of security efforts by sharing credible information that could assist in rescuing the abducted victims.
