PDP, APM Sign MoU Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) on Thursday formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Ibadan, Oyo State, in what both parties described as a strategic political alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The agreement was signed prior to a political gathering held at the ancient Mapo Hill in Ibadan, where party leaders, supporters, and political stakeholders from both platforms converged amid ongoing coalition talks targeted at strengthening opposition politics in the state.
Oyo State Governor, engineer Seyi Makinde signed onbehalf of the PDP alongside the National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Dantalle.
The development comes amid increasing political realignments within the PDP following internal disputes and leadership tensions.
The alliance is expected to shape political activities in Oyo State over the coming months, especially as parties intensify consultations, grassroots mobilisation, and coalition-building efforts ahead of the governorship and other elections scheduled for 2027.
