Oyo Fire Service Contains Blaze at Agodi GRA Residence in Ibadan
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency successfully contained a fire outbreak at a residential property located at Agodi GRA, Ibadan, at the weekend, preventing what could have resulted in major property loss.
According to the agency, a distress call was received via a running call, prompting an immediate response to the scene of the incident.
Firefighters, led by ACFS Bamidele, were swiftly mobilised and deployed to the location, where they discovered a section of the house already engulfed in flames with thick smoke billowing from the affected area.
The fire crew quickly launched a coordinated operation and successfully prevented the blaze from spreading to the main building and other adjoining properties within the premises.
According to the service, No life was lost in the incident, while property worth millions of naira was saved.
The agency attributed the fire outbreak to improper disposal of leftover naked fire, and later confirmed that its operatives returned safely to base after the operation and remained on standby thereafter.
