Kuso: Makinde Still the Standard for Good Governance in Oyo

A leading chairmanship aspirant for Ibarapa East Local Government in the 2026 elections, Hon. Abdul Akeem Akintola Kuso, has declared total loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, stating that he is fully committed to following the governor’s leadership style and developmental direction.

Kuso made this known in a statement released to the press on Monday, where he described Governor Makinde as “the most popular and humanitarian leader of this time,” whose policies and actions continue to inspire hope among the people.

In the statement, Kuso emphasized that every step taken by the governor serves as a guide for his own political journey, adding that Makinde’s governance model has set a standard for effective leadership not only in Oyo State but across the country.

“Governor Seyi Makinde remains a leader whose influence cuts across party lines. Whichever political platform he associates with commands respect and has the capacity to move mountains in Nigeria’s political landscape,” Kuso stated.

He assured residents of Oyo State, particularly those in Ibarapa East Local Government, of his readiness to serve with integrity and dedication, urging them to remain calm and place their trust in his leadership aspiration.

“I want to assure the good people of Ibarapa East that I will not disappoint them in any ramification. My mission is to deliver purposeful leadership that reflects the yearnings and aspirations of our people,” he said.

The aspirant, however, raised concerns over what he described as the activities of “enemies of progress,” alleging that some individuals are working covertly to undermine the achievements of the present administration.

“Despite the silent moves by some detractors to bring down the people’s governor, they will not succeed because the will of the people remains supreme,” he added.

Kuso further used the medium to call on the people of Ibarapa East to sustain their support for his ambition, reiterating his commitment to ushering in a new era of development in the council area.

According to him, his administration, if elected in 2026, would focus on youth empowerment, agricultural development, infrastructural renewal, and improved welfare for all residents.

“I am ready to rewrite the story of Ibarapa East Local Government in a positive way. With your support, we will build a future that guarantees growth, inclusiveness, and sustainable development,” the statement concluded.

Observers believe that Kuso’s strong endorsement of Governor Makinde may resonate with grassroots supporters as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2026 local government elections in Oyo State.
