APC Extends Deadlines for Aspirants’ Forms, Adjusts Screening Schedule for 2027 Elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved a further extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for aspirants seeking to contest in the 2027 General Elections.
The party also announced adjustments to its screening schedule as part of efforts to ensure a smooth, transparent, and inclusive nomination process.
According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the decision followed internal consultations and reflects the party’s commitment to accommodating all prospective aspirants while maintaining the integrity of its electoral process.
He noted that the extension will provide additional time for interested party members to complete necessary documentation, meet stipulated requirements, and participate fully in the nomination exercise.
Revised Schedule
- Sale of Forms: Extended to midnight, Wednesday, May 6, 2026
- Submission of Completed Forms: Extended to midnight, Thursday, May 7, 2026
- Screening of Aspirants: Friday, May 8 to Tuesday, May 12, 2026
- Publication of Screened Aspirants: Wednesday, May 13, 2026
Morka explained that the adjusted screening timetable is designed to allow the party’s screening committees sufficient time to thoroughly review the credentials of aspirants and ensure compliance with party guidelines and constitutional provisions.
He added that the party remains committed to conducting a credible and orderly primary process ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that all aspirants will be given a fair opportunity to participate.
The APC urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the extended timelines to finalise their submissions and ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately.
The party also reaffirmed its readiness to deliver a transparent and competitive selection process that reflects democratic principles and strengthens internal party cohesion.
