‎OYSIEC Hosts Political Stakeholders Ahead Local Government Election, Calls for Improved Participation & Mobilisation



‎The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has called for stronger collaboration with critical stakeholders to enhance residents’ participation in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in Oyo State.

‎The Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Babatunde Afees Adeniyi, made the call while receiving the newly elected executives of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Oyo State Chapter, at the OYSIEC Headquarters in Ibadan.

‎Dr. Adeniyi described political parties as key stakeholders in a democratic system and urged them to continue extending the support and cooperation they have shown the Commission over time.

‎In his remarks, the newly elected IPAC Chairman in Oyo State, Mr. Kabiru Akinade, said the visit was to formally introduce the new IPAC executives to the Commission and further strengthen collaboration with the leadership of OYSIEC ahead of upcoming electoral activities.

‎He noted that the forthcoming local government council elections would provide political parties in the state with an opportunity to assess their strengths and weaknesses, assuring that IPAC would work with all political parties to ensure a peaceful, credible, and successful local government poll across Oyo State.
