‎Governor Makinde Reassures Residents on Security, Highlights Success of Joint Operations

‎The Oyo State Government has reassured residents that the state remains one of the safest in the country despite prevailing security challenges across Nigeria.

‎In a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde said it has been able to significantly curtail criminal activities through strategic deployment of security personnel and resources across the state.

‎Oyelade cited the recent rescue of four commuters who were kidnapped along the Igbeti–Kishi road as a clear demonstration of the efficiency of the state’s security network.

‎He noted that the swift intervention of security operatives led to the safe recovery of the victims.

‎According to the commissioner, the state government has continued to organise and fund quarterly clearance operations in identified security flashpoints as part of proactive measures to tackle banditry, kidnapping and illegal mining.

‎He said the administration’s collaboration with law enforcement agencies, including the Army, Air Force and Police, has significantly boosted security efforts.

‎Oyelade maintained that the combination of kinetic and non-kinetic strategies adopted by Governor Makinde’s administration has helped to keep criminals at bay and prevent the security challenges affecting neighbouring states such as Ekiti and Kwara from spreading into Oyo State.
