Fallen Power Pole Causes Traffic Build-Up on Ojoo Road, Raises Safety Concerns
Motorists experienced traffic build-up along Ojoo Road in Ibadan on Friday morning after a power pole fell across the roadway, leaving electricity cables lying on the road.
The fallen pole, which is still at the scene as of this morning, disrupted the free flow of traffic in the area.
Drivers were forced to create a one-way path to pass through the affected part of the road, leading to a build-up of vehicles.
Residents and road users also raised concerns about the danger posed by the cables on the ground.
Some feared that if power is restored while the lines remain on the road, it could cause a fire outbreak or lead to electrocution.
As of the time of this report, the pole is yet to be removed from the road.
