Oyo Government Urges Residents to Pay Water Bills to Sustain Supply Operations
The Oyo State Government, through the State’s Water Corporation, has called on residents to promptly pay for water services rendered, stressing that revenue generation is critical to sustaining operations.
The Executive Chairman of Water Corporation of Oyo State, Honorable Elias Adeojo, made the call during a sensitization programme on the Corporation’s services held for residents of the Eleyele/Ologuneru areas of the State.
The Corporation Chairman explained that funds realised from customer payments are used as logistics for the purchase of water treatment chemicals and for settling electricity bills owed to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
According to the him, stable electricity supply and adequate treatment chemicals are essential components of potable water production and distribution.
He noted that without consistent revenue inflow, it would be difficult to maintain treatment standards and ensure uninterrupted pumping of water to households.

Honorable Adeojo added that sustained public cooperation would enable the Corporation to continue upgrading infrastructure, maintain water quality, and meet growing demand across the coverage areas.
