Customs, Police collaborate to strengthen security in Oyo State
Ibadan,Feb.7,2026 (NAN) Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Police Command in Oyo State on Friday collaborated towards safeguarding national security in the state.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, while receiving the Acting Controller Oyo/Osun NCS Area Command, Moses Adewole and his team during a courtesy visit, pledged to reinforce inter-agency cooperation in safeguarding national security.
Haruna acknowledged Customs as a critical stakeholder in protecting the nation’s borders and curbing influx and consumption of illicit products that pose significant risks to the health and well-being of citizens.
The commissioner assured the Acting Customs Area Controller of the Police Command’s unwavering support and commitment to sustained collaboration with the Oyo/Osun Area Command.
He stressed the importance of synergy between security agencies, noting that no single agency can effectively operate in isolation.
Haruna urged both sister agencies to continue to foster unity in the collective pursuit of national security.
In his response, Adewole appreciated the leadership of the Oyo State Police Command for the warm reception and longstanding partnership between the two sister agencies.
He said that NCS and the Force has maintained a symbiotic relationship over the years that had contributed to operational successes and enhanced security within the region.
The Acting Customs Area Controller further solicited the continued cooperation and support of the Police, particularly in joint operations and intelligence sharing whenever the need arises.
He reaffirmed his commitment to leveraging on the strong institutional relationship between both agencies to advance their shared mandate of protecting society and ensuring economic stability.
