LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Oyo Annexe upgrade in top gear, set for completion in 2027
The Oyo State Government has disclosed that the ongoing upgrade of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Oyo Annexe, is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
The government disclosed this through its official Feedback Service handle on X while sharing an update and photographs showing the progress of work at the facility.
The project, which commenced on February 18, 2026, followed Governor Seyi Makinde’s announcement on December 8, 2025, that the facility would be reconstructed and upgraded to make it fully operational.
The upgrade covers the rehabilitation of existing clinic and administrative buildings, as well as the construction of new facilities to expand the hospital’s capacity and improve healthcare delivery in the Oyo Zone.
Among the new facilities being provided are 400 bed male and female wards, comprising 200 beds each, an Accident and Emergency Unit, laboratories, maternity facilities and intensive care units.
The project also includes a diagnostic centre, student hostels and staff quarters.
Supporting infrastructure such as internal roads, potable water supply, power infrastructure, solar security lighting and a mortuary is also being provided as part of the upgrade.
When completed, the upgraded LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Oyo Annexe is expected to significantly expand healthcare capacity in the Oyo Zone, improve access to emergency and specialist medical care and support the training of medical personnel.
The government said the project remained scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
