Fubara endorses Rivers APC guber candidate, joins Wike’s Rainbow Coalition
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his support for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the state, Kingsley Chinda, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor also endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office and announced that he had formally joined the Rainbow Coalition, a political alliance spearheaded by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Fubara made the declaration on Wednesday during the groundbreaking and foundation-laying ceremony of the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Addressing supporters at the event, the governor urged them to align with his political decision by joining the Rainbow Coalition.
“I am supporting President Tinubu for the Presidency and OK Chinda to be the next Governor of Rivers State.
“I am part of the Rainbow Coalition, and I’m back to my political family,” Fubara said.
The declaration marks a significant political development in Rivers State, coming after months of speculation over the governor’s relationship with Wike following their prolonged political disagreement.
By publicly identifying with the Rainbow Coalition and endorsing both Tinubu and Chinda, Fubara signalled a new political alignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
His endorsement is expected to reshape the political landscape in Rivers State, where alliances and party loyalties are already taking shape ahead of the next electoral cycle.
