Kuso Condoles with Bode Market Traders, Describes Fire Incident as a Shared Loss
The Chairman of the Tippers and Lorries Unit of the Park Management System (PMS), Oyo State, and Chairmanship Aspirant for Ibarapa East Local Government on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Hon. Alh. Abdul Akeem Akintola Kuso, has sympathised with traders affected by the fire outbreak that destroyed parts of the popular Bode Market in Ibadan.
In a statement released on Friday, Kuso said he received the news of the early morning inferno with deep sadness, noting that the destruction of shops and valuable goods has brought grief and hardship to many families who rely on the market for their daily livelihood.
He described the affected traders as hardworking men and women whose contributions continue to sustain commercial activities in Oyo State, adding that the unfortunate incident has touched the hearts of many residents across the state.
Kuso commended the prompt intervention of the Oyo State Fire Service and other emergency responders for their professionalism in bringing the fire under control and limiting further damage.
The chairmanship aspirant encouraged the victims to remain steadfast and hopeful despite the painful losses, expressing confidence that their resilience, coupled with the compassion and goodwill of society, would help them regain their footing.
He offered prayers for the speedy recovery of every affected trader and for divine restoration of all that had been lost, while also praying for continued peace, safety and God’s protection over markets, businesses and communities throughout Oyo State.
Kuso reaffirmed his commitment to identifying with the hopes and challenges of ordinary people, stressing that standing with citizens during moments of joy and times of difficulty remains a core value of responsible leadership.
