‎Oyo INEC Fixes February 9 for Mobile Continuous Voter Exercise Across 351 Registration Areas

‎The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyo State office, has declared February 9, 2026, as the commencement date for the rotational movement of INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) machines across the 351 Registration Areas of the state.

‎The initiative is part of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise aimed at expanding access to voter enrolment.

‎Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Adeniran Tella, made the declaration at a media briefing held on Wednesday at the INEC Office, Agodi, Ibadan.

‎He explained that the Commission would not adopt a static approach for the exercise, noting that the IVED machines would be mobile to ensure effective coverage of all communities.

‎Professor Tella stated that the mobile registration strategy was informed by lessons learnt from the first phase of the CVR, particularly challenges related to accessibility in rural and underserved areas.

‎He noted that the Commission was committed to bringing voter registration closer to eligible Nigerians, especially those who were unable to register earlier.

‎Professor Tella assured that the schedule for the movement of the IVED machines would be made public through the INEC website and notice boards at local government offices.
