‎Governor Makinde Hosts EU Delegates, Forge Partnership on Agriculture, Education & Climate Action

‎Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Tuesday hosted a delegation from the European Union (EU) at his private residence in Ibadan, where both parties explored opportunities for strategic collaboration in agriculture, education, climate action, and the fight against gender-based violence.

‎The delegation was led by Ambassador Gautier Mignot, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), who was on his first official visit to Oyo State.

‎Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening partnerships that would drive agricultural development, improve educational opportunities, empower women and youths, and address climate-related challenges confronting communities.

‎Following the broader engagement, Governor Makinde and Ambassador Mignot held a private meeting to further discuss areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

‎Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Ambassador Mignot said both sides had productive discussions on how the EU could support Oyo State’s ambition of becoming a major agricultural hub and food basket for Nigeria.
