Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s Sister and Sons Reunite With Family Following Successful Police Rescue Operation

Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, have reunited with their family following a successful rescue operation by the Nigeria Police Force.

The victims were rescued alive during a late-night operation conducted by police operatives at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026. According to security sources, the operation led to a fierce gun battle between the kidnappers and law enforcement officers, resulting in the neutralisation of two suspected abductors and the recovery of two firearms.

Mrs. John-Paul and her children were abducted on June 3, 2026, while she was taking the twins to school. Police authorities said sustained intelligence gathering, strategic tracking, and relentless pressure on the kidnappers ultimately forced the criminals into a confrontation that paved the way for the victims’ rescue.

Security sources further disclosed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who fled the scene, with some believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The successful operation has been hailed as a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and violent crime in the area.
