Eid’l Kabir: Olubadan, Chief Imam, Others Bow Down Before Allah At Agodi Eid Ground; Pray For Peace, Safe Return Of Abducted Oyo Victims
Muslim faithful gathered in large numbers at the Agodi Eid praying ground on Wednesday to observe the Eid’l Kabir prayers, joining in supplications for peace, unity, and improved security across Oyo State and Nigeria.
The special prayer session, which commenced at about 9 a.m., was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, AbdulGaniyy Agbotomokekere, who led worshippers in prayers seeking Allah’s mercy for the nation, stability in governance, and protection for citizens amid ongoing security concerns.
The congregation also offered fervent prayers for the safe return of victims abducted in Esiele, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to intensify rescue efforts and restore calm to affected communities.
The moment of prayer was marked by deep reflection, as worshippers emphasized the importance of faith, sacrifice, and unity in overcoming national challenges, especially during a period of economic hardship and insecurity.
The Eid ground attracted a host of prominent dignitaries who joined the faithful in observance of the prayers.
Among them was the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Bayo Lawal, Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, Hon. Stanley Olajide, and Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, alongside other political leaders, traditional rulers, and Islamic scholars.
The atmosphere at Agodi Eid Ground combined solemn devotion with communal solidarity, as worshippers reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and continued prayers for the progress and safety of the state and nation.
