Olubadan, Oyinlola Urge Military Veterans to Support Fight Against Insecurity
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, former Osun State governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and other stakeholders have called on retired military and security personnel across the country to support ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity in their communities.
The leaders made the call in reaction to the recent abduction of pupils, teachers, and residents in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Speaking during an event in Ibadan, Oba Ladoja urged military veterans to deploy their vast experience, intelligence, and resources to assist security agencies rather than leaving the responsibility solely to the government.
The monarch also described the recent abduction incident in Oriire Local Government Area as painful and unacceptable, stressing the need for urgent and coordinated intervention to prevent further occurrences.
In the same vein, former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola called for stronger collaboration between retired and serving military personnel to improve peace and security across the country.
He explained that many veterans possess specialised training and practical experience that could significantly enhance ongoing operations against criminal elements.
