Man Found Hidden in “Ghana Must-Go” Bag at Married Woman’s Home Arrested by Hisbah
Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested a man allegedly discovered hiding inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag at the residence of a married woman in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi.
The arrest was confirmed on Tuesday by the Director of Sharia at the board, Sirajo Kamba, in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi.
According to Kamba, residents alerted the Hisbah Board around 12:15 a.m. on Monday, May 18, after noticing the man enter the woman’s home under suspicious circumstances.
“The residents suspected an illicit relationship contrary to Islamic teachings and decided to notify the authorities,” he said.
Kamba explained that Hisbah officers were immediately deployed to the scene to investigate the report.
“On arrival, officers requested permission to search the house, but the woman initially insisted that no one else was inside,” he stated.
However, after further questioning, the woman reportedly allowed the officers to conduct a thorough search of the premises. During the search, the suspect was allegedly found concealed inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag.
Preliminary investigations, according to the board, revealed that the man and the married woman were involved in an alleged romantic relationship.
Kamba added that both suspects reportedly admitted to the allegations during interrogation and would be arraigned in court under Islamic law.
The incident comes days after the Kano State Hisbah Board arrested two women and a 35-year-old fish seller over alleged immoral conduct in Kano State.
