ODCF Urges Calm, Reaffirms Unity Among Oke-Ogun Monarchs

The Oke-Ogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF) has called for calm and restraint following reports circulating on social media alleging divisions among traditional rulers in Oke-Ogun.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Forum reacted to reports published under the caption: “Oke-Ogun Monarchs Sack Association Chairman, Pass Vote of No Confidence on Aseyin.”

ODCF, described as the umbrella socio-cultural body coordinating the affairs of unions, associations and stakeholders across Oke-Ogun at home and in the diaspora, assured the public that there is no irreconcilable rift among the revered traditional rulers in the region.

The Forum stated that any issues that may arise among the monarchs would be handled through dialogue, mutual respect and the spirit of brotherhood that has long characterised the traditional institution in Oke-Ogun.

“The revered traditional rulers of Oke-Ogun are not divided beyond reconciliation, as every issue will be responsibly managed through mature dialogue, mutual respect and the enduring spirit of brotherhood that has always defined the traditional institution in Oke-Ogun,” the statement read.

ODCF urged social media users, bloggers and commentators to avoid sensationalism, inflammatory narratives and unverified speculations capable of creating unnecessary tension or giving misleading impressions about the peace and unity of the region.

The Forum emphasised that Oke-Ogun monarchs remain symbols of unity, culture, dignity and stability, adding that their commitment to the peace, progress and development of the region remains unwavering.

It also appealed to sons and daughters of Oke-Ogun, both at home and abroad, to continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening unity, preserving mutual respect and advancing the collective interest of the people.

“Peace shall reign among our monarchs. Peace shall reign across Oke-Ogun land,” the statement added.
